Freeme Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
Freeme is a browser extension designed to add convenient Freedium controls to Medium article pages and article previews.
Information processed by Freeme
Freeme processes the current Medium page URL and Medium article links available on the page in order to identify articles and provide its user-facing functionality.
This information is processed locally within the user's browser. Freeme does not maintain developer-operated servers and does not collect, store, sell, profile, or use this information for advertising or analytics.
Opening articles with Freedium
When the user explicitly clicks a Freedium button, Freeme opens the selected Medium article through the Freedium service. To perform this action, the selected Medium article URL is included in the Freedium URL and is therefore provided to that third-party service.
Freeme does not control Freedium or its privacy practices. Users should review the privacy practices of third-party websites they choose to visit.
Support link
Freeme contains an optional support link that opens Buy Me a Coffee in a new browser tab. No Medium article content is intentionally provided to Buy Me a Coffee by Freeme.
Personal information
Freeme does not request or collect names, email addresses, account credentials, payment information, health information, precise location information, personal communications, or authentication information.
Data sharing and sale
Freeme does not sell user data. User data is not transferred for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, data brokerage, or unrelated purposes.
Data retention
Freeme does not maintain a database or server-side storage of browsing data or Medium content.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Freeme's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information handled by the extension is used only to provide its disclosed user-facing functionality.
Changes
This privacy policy may be updated if Freeme's functionality or data-handling practices change.
